Welcome to Our Farm

Isaac, Gabriel, Laura, and I would like to welcome you to Downey Family Farm! Our journey started in 2016, when we purchased our small farm in rural Maryland, 30 minutes northwest of Baltimore. In 2019 we added our first registered Texas longhorn cow, and from that moment we were hooked. In 2022 we were fortunate enough to enter into a partnership on one of the greatest up-and-coming bulls in the industry, Hubbell's Jeremiah 29:11. We know Jeremiah is going to vault our program to the next level, as we continue to pursue our goals of creating a more perfect animal. In addition to our longhorns, we also raise pasture-based pork and poultry, as well as a small herd of goats.

Our farm is also happy to offer a Guesthouse for rent for guests looking to spend some time away in a rural setting. The Guesthouse is, in part, an 1800s log cabin that has been restored and added on to, combining the old charm of a hand-built log cabin, with the comfort of modern amenities, all with a view of the longhorns grazing right out the back window.
